For years people have asked me to take them diving in the tropics. My own desire has been to establish a Christian camp in the South Pacific where youth, particularly physically-challenged young people could learn to scuba dive in warm tropical water. Imagine a child that can’t walk learning to fly in slow motion underwater. This goal is still a number of years away depending upon our building progress and financial situation. Project Fiji under the Dream Machine Foundation is a Christian, non-profit organization that has four immediate goals.
Our
second goal is to offer continuing medical and dental services. At our Our third goal is to build a mission facility which will also be a youth camp on a 100 acre property adjacent to the school in Buca Bay. The property is on an enchanting ocean bay covered with coconut trees and flowering tropical plants. It is a short boat ride to white sand beaches and snorkeling in crystal clear water leading out to colorful coral reefs. The youth camp will eventually feature horseback riding in the rain forest, windsurfing, scuba diving, rafting on the river, and sailing; all accessed for physically-challenged youth! For our mission trip schedule consult our calendar. Applicants should indicate their skills, interests and abilities. Group rate airfare from Los Angeles to Savusavu on Vanua Levu Island averages between $1400 & $1600 depending on season if arranged through Cathy Mantonya CTC at Sunspots International 503 666-3893 cathy@sunspotsintl.com Individuals and church groups are encouraged to schedule their own trips.
